Pregnant Women

Safe Sleep Classes
Wilkes Health in partnership with local agencies offer Safe Sleep NC classes. Safe Sleep NC is a program of the UNC Center for Maternal and Infant Health. The goal is to strengthen the adoption of infant safe sleep practices that reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and that prevent infant sleep-related deaths such as accidental infant asphyxiation and suffocation across the state.
Wilkes Health offers this free training to any caregiver of an infant less than a year old, or women who is at least 30 weeks pregnant. Classes are held once a month at the Wilkes County Public Library, and with the completion of the class the mom to be or caregiver will receive a free Pack-n-Play. Classes typically run 45 minutes to 1 hour. For more information concerning these free classes click here to see our schedule or call 336-651-7468.
