Job Description
Entry level position that involves collection of delinquent property taxes in accordance with State law, garnishing wages, attaching bank accounts and the debt setoff. This person will be trainded in all the daily activities of the Collection's office. This includes taking payments, handling the mail, balancing a drawer and perparing deposit. The job requires knowledge of general accounting principles, money handling skills and computer proficiency. Individual work initiative and considerable tact working with the public. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 25 lbs. Must have a valid NC driver's license and a background check required.
Experience Required
One to three years experience in accounting, banking or business or equivalent combination of training and experience which provide the necessary skills and abilities needed to perform the job.
Education Requirements
Minimum graduation from a two or four year college with a related degree. Must pass the required cources needed to be certified by the North Carolina Tax Collectors's Association within 2 years.
